My name is Marlene Gomez, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Starting therapy can be daunting and overwhelming, you may be struggling with emotions that you are not able to name and express. My goal as your therapist is to create a safe space where you can explore your inner thoughts and feelings, their origins, and find ways to cope with and express your emotions. My approach I treat mental health from a systemic lens, with the understanding that our inner world is inextricable from our interactions with our family, colleagues, and the world in a larger context. I consider myself to be a trauma informed and culturally inclusive therapist. I believe that all humans are capable of growth and change, and I am here to support that process. My focus My experience includes, but is not limited to, treating patients struggling with symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma, family of origin issues, difficulty with individuating, parenting issues, and women's issues. My communication style My communication style is warm and compassionate but direct. I believe in creating safe spaces where we can discuss sensitive topics with openness and curiosity. My journey to therapy In order to provide the best use of our therapy time, it is helpful to consider what goals you may have for treatment. Together with clients I explore what success in therapy looks like for the client, specifically, what will be different or improved at the end of treatment.
